My Story: My Influences

You can achieve so much more with a little love, encouragement and self compassion

I was 27 years old when I met Michael Hunt, my Osteopath. He stirred an interest and fascination in me for anatomy and physiology with his passionate explanations and incredible knowledge. He genuinely believed in my ability to comprehend his teachings and was the first person in my life to truly encourage me to learn and study further.

When someone shows this faith in you, you feel empowered to achieve. He gave me that confidence and I went on to study sports science and become a Fitness Coach and Advanced Sports Therapist. I managed to fit all that study in around a stressful and demanding city job as Head of Marketing & PR for a large restaurant group, and having my first child! It just goes to show you what you can achieve with a little love and encouragement.

Some years later, Michael introduced me to a friend and client of his, a psychotherapist called Loretta Fox. Like Michael, she was incredibly engaged with life and I was immediately drawn to her wisdom and kindness. We forged a wonderful friendship and with her support and guidance, not only as my friend but as my therapist, I can honestly say I am the most content and aware I’ve ever been.

She helped me look back to move forward. She supported me through the pain of loss, the difficulties of parenting, marriage and divorce; and she never stopped telling me that I am good enough. And I am. I always was. I just didn’t believe it.

And so, with Loretta’s encouragement, the next part of my journey commenced…..into compassion focused coaching and supporting others, in the same way that she does with me.

What story have you told yourself that prevents you from asking for support?  Often, we tell ourselves we can’t afford it, but how can we afford not to invest in our future happiness?  I promise you, the journey is so much easier to navigate when we have someone supporting us – it’s like being given a map.

Are you struggling to find direction and purpose?

Having a Life Coach is similar to being given a road map for a long journey; it helps us reach our destination without feeling lost with no sense of direction.

So, I’m your map, pick me up.
